The whole world has been changed by COVID-19. Dreams have been put on hold during this pandemic. Some will not walk with their classmates during graduation, while others will have their wedding in an empty chapel. Many will become ill. Some will recover, some may not. Some will be devastated while most will be only disappointed. What were your plans for this spring and summer? Maybe you had laser focused "2020 Vision' for what you hoped to accomplish this year.

Ray Hollis was headed to Nashville to record in March and April. Some of the amazing production team includes Steve Marcantonio, ACM nominated engineer of the year! Steve's Grammy winning skills can be heard in the mixes of artists including Alabama, Blake Shelton, Brad Paisley, Brooks & Dunn, Dolly Parton, Hunter Hayes, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, LeAnn Rimes, Lionel Richey, Montgomery Gentry, Natalie Grant, Reba McEntire, Shirley Caesar, Taylor Swift, Terry Clark, The Band Perry, Trisha Yearwood, Vince Gill, Willie Nelson and even John Lennon!

Another member of the team is guitarist Adam Shoenfeld, ACM nominted guitarist of the year! Adam is the guitarist on the Tim McGraw and Faith Hill tour. Hopefully it will resume soon. So what do we do? 1) BE THANKFUL1 Thesalonians 5:18  BE THANKFUL in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you...  If you are well enough to read this article, you are blessed with life and health. Give thanks before your feet hit the floor every morning! Research shows thankfulness will enrich every part of your life!!

2) ENCOURAGE OTHERS during this time. 1 Thessalonians 5:11  So ENCOURAGE OTHERS and build each other up...  Using proper safety and health guidelines, use your gift(s) to help others. If you are musically inclined, post some songs online. Help others in need of food or other necessities. Be creative and generous. Don't forget to show love and encouragement to the people you are at home with during this time. Take time to have fun! Get to know them better! Break out the UNO cards, checkers, Monopoly, etc! You might even have a meal together! What a novel idea!!

3) KEEP DREAMING!  Ephesians 3:20  Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do super abundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or DREAMS], according to His power that is at work within us...  This unprecedented pandemic will end soon. We will get back to some form of normal life. Don't live in regret of unfulfilled dreams or plans. If your dreams are shattered beyond repair, dream NEW dreams!! While COVID-19 is serious and has taken precious lives, don't let it keep you from truly living and dreaming while you are alive! Joseph had a God-given dream (Genesis 37:5). It didn't happen overnight, but with his amazing attitude through all his challenges, delays, difficulty, disappointment, discouragement and setbacks - his dream came to pass!!

2 Timothy 1:6  I’m writing to encourage you to fan into a flame and rekindle the fire of the spiritual gift God imparted to you...  Every person listed in the article has had to fight at some time to keep their dream alive. Your dreams may be delayed, but don't let them die. Your God-given gifts and dreams live inside you! Keep them alive!!

PRAISE & WORSHIP or COUNTRY MUSIC? Hallelujah or Yee-Haw?

Ray Hollis is known for writing Praise and Worship music. That genre is his heart and passion. He grew up playing rock music, learning to play the guitar at age seven. Later in life, while working on a music degree at the University of Arkansas, he took a voice class. His professor said' "you are a country singer". Ray wanted to say, but thought, "shut up"! A few years later, he's finding out he likes to write country too.

Ray has written several songs recently in the country genre. Country writers are wordsmiths and have a way of telling a story. Jesus told stories. Worship Music has become incredibly popular in our culture. Still, not everyone can relate. As you listen to Ray's CD's you will hear several styles behind the message... rock, R&B, dance, latin... yes and a little country. We never change the message, only the method.

Ray recently used some these new "country" songs during a message at church. Hearts were moved. Check back soon so you can hear the new songs with a message about "Love and Life".

It's amazing to see that music is timeless. Music has always been around the throne of God. The stars sang and angels shouted as He created the universe. We find music from Genesis to Revelation. Psalms and the Song of Solomon were entire books of songs. Guess what we'll do for eternity when we get to heaven? Sing! Ask Jesus in your heart and you are automatically in the heavenly choir! No auditions!

Ray and Jan have a big extended family. Families aren't perfect, they just keep loving each other even when things get ugly. Life is beautiful and sometimes has ugly moments. We hope these new songs that will be released soon will help you sing during sunny times and to keep your praise on when storm clouds rise. If life gets tough, keep loving. Love never fails, even in the tough times. Just keep loving!

Once upon a time, Ray Hollis was a Music and Youth Pastor. The youth group had a band (ICU BAND), drama team and the Fire Choir that traveled and ministered. The band recorded a song entitled "ICU". It did not stand for intensive care unit! LOL! The message was God says "I See You". He knows everything about you and everything you are facing. He see's you and lavishly loves you just as you are.

Don't think of God with angry eyes. When Jesus looked over Jerusalem, His heart was moved with compassion with eyes of love. Imagine a father looking over his small child singing lullabies... "For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs." Zephaniah 3:17

“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you (as He looks upon you) and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you (and see you) and give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-26
